So Quiet On The Canine Front

Yep, I’ve got another zany black and white film from the 1930’s featuring dogs as people. Only this time, it means war. Dogs in biplanes….GENIUS!!!!

Spümcø - Quaker’s Quisp Ad

How I missed this John Kricfalusi animated ad when it originally came out is just beyond me. Too bad Spümcø is no longer around but at least John K still updates his blog.

Mel Brooks - The Critic

No, not Jay Sherman but the very first film by Mel Brooks. This animated short is from 1963 which is five years before he would go on to do the first version of The Producers.

The Mighty Boosh - Eels (Live)

The Boosh is just one of those messed up in a good way type of crazy things that you either get or it leaves you scratching your head in confusion. I caught their show on BBC America, and I’m glad that [as] chose to pick it up.

The Dogway Melody - Queenie In Trouble

Ok, well maybe we Americans can also turn out some pure weirdness on our own, and we have been doing it since as far back as 1930. I had never even heard of The Dogway Melody until just this week.

Inochi

These are some short promotional clips for some show that the Japanese artist Takashi Murakami is doing. Or at least that is what I read on the internets, so I’m still not really sure but let us just say once again that Japan is one strange nation of people.

My Green Fedora

I can remember being stuck in bed, sick on a really gloomy day as a kid and I saw this on one of those daytime cartoon shows that ran on TBS back in the day. It really cheered me up then and it still does to this day…plus the tune is really catchy.
