Honeyland

A totally typical Rudolf Ising toon from the 30’s that is really almost a stereotype of the animated shorts released at that time. It really is a total formula piece, but somehow it still has a nice look to it.

Marine Boy - The Green Monster

This cartoon was apparently one of the very first anime shows to be imported from Japan to the U.S. and dubbed into English. He could breathe underwater because of his special chewing gum….wtf?!?!

Big Baby - Rookie

Yep, that sure is one big-ass baby. And some people try and deny the fact that America has a major obesity problem these days.

Christmas Comes To Pacland

Even as a kid, I knew that the idea of a cartoon based on Pac-man was astoundingly stupid and making a Christmas special out of it was even more idiotic but I still watched it anyways.

Porky in Wackyland

In 1994 this classic black and white cartoon was voted #8 of The 50 Greatest Cartoons of all time and then later in 2000, it was deemed “culturally significant” by the United States Library of Congress.

Harvie Krumpet

Here’s another great short film I caught in the middle of the night on one of the movie channels. It really shows how much story you can tell with a very limited amount of animation.

Captain America - The Red Skull Lives

yuck “When Captain America throws his mighty shield, all those who chose oppose his shield must yield. If he’s lead to a fight and a duel is due, then the red and white and the blue’ll come through. When Captain America throws his mighty shield.”

Michael Kohler - That Time is Now (Superfriends)

Wonder Twin powers: ACTIVATE! Gathered together from the cosmic reaches of the universe, here in this great Hall of Justice, are the most powerful forces of good ever assembled. Dedicated to truth, justice and peace for all mankind!

Brain Games

And now... My family had just gotten our first VCR when this was airing on HBO. Yours truly was the only person in the house who knew how to program it because I wanted to record this so badly. Even way back then, I was such a nerd.

The Bear That Wasn’t

Why isn't this on the Cartoon Network? This guy isn’t really a man. He’s actually a bear instead, despite whatever label the industrialized world might want to slap onto him. It is vintage Chuck Jones work.
