Harry ‘Haywire’ McClintock - The Big Rock Candy Mountain

This sounds like a really good vacation destination. Except for the fact that I can never get this song out of my head anytime I hear it.

The Mighty Boosh - Ice Flow Song

“Boosh, Boosh, Stronger than a moose
Don’t lock your doors or we’ll come through your roof top
Stop look around take your mind off the floor
Because The Boosh is loose and we’re a little bit RAW!”

The Beatles : Rock Band

Man, I am so excited for this game’s release. The opening animated intro goes from fantastic to super-amazing and then just down plain outright utterly wonderful. The people behind this little slice of joy should be proud of themselves.

Spümcø - Quaker’s Quisp Ad

How I missed this John Kricfalusi animated ad when it originally came out is just beyond me. Too bad Spümcø is no longer around but at least John K still updates his blog.

Mel Brooks - The Critic

No, not Jay Sherman but the very first film by Mel Brooks. This animated short is from 1963 which is five years before he would go on to do the first version of The Producers.

Aaron Koblin - Flight Patterns

Artist Aaron Koblin’s work is something extremely modern. He is obsessed with taking data and converting it into works of art. I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot more of his works in the mainstream, so be sure to check out his official site.

A Short History Of America - Robert Crumb

I distinctly remember this series of Crumb’s work being featured in Games Magazine back in the 80’s, because I was totally obsessed with that publication and collected it like crazy. Of course, this take on it is from the documentary Crumb.

Bravo Profiles - Penn and Teller

Sure, this video my be a few years old, but anything about these two geniuses is always well worth watching. They are eassily one of the best acts to ever appear in Vegas.

Harvie Krumpet

Here’s another great short film I caught in the middle of the night on one of the movie channels. It really shows how much story you can tell with a very limited amount of animation.

100 Years At The Movies

Chuck Workman made this great montage of movie moments for the 1994 Oscar show, and I still see it running on Turner Classic Movies from time to time. Here’s a great site that lists all the films from this video.
